About Us
In 2008 Desiree Male opened Male & Co Pty Ltd for Accounting, Financial Planning & Insurance Services. You’ll find Male & Co at the historic “Streeter and Male” building on Short Street, the same building that started the Male business lineage more than 100 years ago.

Desiree’s Great Grandfather, Arthur Male formed a partnership business with George Streeter, the reputed son of a London Jeweller. “Streeter and Male” was the very first retail store in Broome offering the pearling industry goods to buy such as drapery, groceries, hardware and ships chandlery items.

The business evolved and fifty years later the next generation of Male’s. specifically Sam Male, branched out to be part of the first ever cultured pearl farm at Kuri Bay & now two generations on the Male family’s commitment and service to the Broome Community lives on through Desiree!
